Ajwa Dates Price in Pakistan 2026: Complete Buying Guide

Updated: 7 November 2026 | By BaBaShop.pk Team

The Ajwa dates price in Pakistan is one of the most searched food prices in the country — and one of the easiest to get wrong. On 7 November 2026, verified online prices for 1kg of Ajwa dates ranged from Rs 3,779 to Rs 7,999. That spread is not a typo. It is the difference between a marketplace seller, a supermarket shelf and a gift box.

Ajwa dates come from Madinah in Saudi Arabia. They are dark, soft and wrinkled, and they are the most expensive common date in Pakistan. This guide gives you the verified prices first, then shows you how to tell real Ajwa from the many cheaper dates sold under its name.

⚡ Direct answer — Ajwa dates price in Pakistan

  • PRICE: Rs 3,779 per kg is the lowest verified 1kg listing we saw — “Ajwa Dates From Madinah 1 Kg Box” from a Daraz marketplace seller. Check the seller’s reviews before you trust a price this low.
  • Rs 4,500–Rs 4,700 per kg is the supermarket range for Royal Shamsi Ajwa at Naheed — the lowest verified supermarket rate.
  • Rs 6,950 per kg is what Naheed charges for S.N. Ajwa Special and S.N. Ajwa Standard in 1kg packs — the supermarket’s headline Ajwa rate.
  • Rs 5,999 per kg is the Daraz rate for “Big Size Pure AJWA Dates 1kg” — a mid-range marketplace price.
  • Rs 7,999 per kg is the highest verified price — S.N. Ajwa with cashews at Naheed, a filled gift product, not plain Ajwa.
  • 1. Honest note: BaBa Shop does NOT sell Ajwa dates or almonds. We sell seeds — chia, flax and sunflower — and this guide still tells you where to buy Ajwa dates and what to pay.

🏆 Quick verdict: which Ajwa dates should you buy?

Buy a named brand in a sealed pack from a supermarket or a seller with a long record. Ajwa is the most faked date in Pakistan, so the seller matters more than the price.

Buy Royal Shamsi Ajwa 400g or 500g if…

You want the lowest verified supermarket rate. At Naheed it works out at about Rs 4,500–Rs 4,625 per kg. A 400g pack at Rs 1,850 is a sensible way to try Ajwa without spending Rs 6,950 on a kilo.

Buy S.N. Ajwa 1kg if…

You want a full kilo from a named brand at a supermarket, and you are buying for Ramadan, a gift or regular eating. At Rs 6,950 per kg it is dearer than Royal Shamsi, but the brand and the sealed 1kg pack are easier to check.

Buy a Daraz 1kg box if…

You have checked the seller’s rating, the number of orders and the return policy, and you accept the risk. The Rs 3,779 and Rs 4,499 1kg listings are much cheaper than Naheed — which is either a good deal or a warning, and you cannot tell which from the price alone.

Skip the cheapest listings if…

The price is far below Rs 4,000 per kg and the seller is new, unnamed or has few reviews. Real Ajwa from Madinah is expensive to import. A price that ignores that cost is the single best sign of a fake.

One honest caveat: we have NOT tested these dates ourselves. We do not sell Ajwa dates, we have no lab results for these brands, and we have not tasted them. Our checks are price checks on live pages, not quality tests.

💰 Price comparison: 16 packs, per-kg rates

Ajwa is sold in 150g, 200g, 250g, 400g, 500g, 800g and 1kg packs, so the sticker price tells you almost nothing. The per-kg column is the fair comparison, worked out the same way every time: price ÷ pack size × 1,000.

Three patterns jump out. First, the same brand costs different amounts per kg in different pack sizes: S.N. Ajwa Special is Rs 6,950 per kg in a 1kg pack but Rs 5,625 per kg in an 800g pack — the smaller pack is cheaper per kilo, which is unusual and worth checking on the day. Second, Royal Shamsi is the value pick at Naheed, at about Rs 4,500–Rs 4,700 per kg in every size. Third, the cashew-filled Ajwa at Rs 7,999 per kg is not comparable with plain Ajwa — you are paying for cashews and a gift pack as well.

🧮 What Rs 1,000 actually buys you

Ajwa is bought by the date, not by the kilo, in most homes. Here is what Rs 1,000 gets you at the verified rates — and what a daily portion costs.

  • At Rs 4,500 per kg (Royal Shamsi): 222g — about 25–30 dates — Rs 150 a day for 3 dates.
  • At Rs 6,950 per kg (S.N. Ajwa 1kg): 144g — about 16–18 dates — Rs 232 a day for 3 dates.
  • At Rs 3,779 per kg (Daraz 1kg box): 265g — about 30 dates — Rs 126 a day for 3 dates, if the seller’s quality matches the claim.

Three Ajwa dates weigh about 25–30g. At supermarket rates, a month of 3 dates a day (about 800g) costs Rs 3,600–Rs 5,560. A 200g pack, at Rs 940–Rs 1,225, lasts about a week at that pace — a good size to try before you spend Rs 6,950 on a kilo.

❓ Ajwa vs other dates — and the fake Ajwa warning

Ajwa is one variety of date, grown around Madinah. It is not the same as Medjool, Sukkari, Mabroom, Amber or Kalmi dates, even though shops sometimes sell those as “Ajwa” at Ajwa prices.

How Ajwa differs

Ajwa dates are small (about 3 cm), dark brown to almost black, soft and wrinkled, with a dry, liquorice-like sweetness. Medjool dates are much larger, plumper and caramel-sweet. Sukkari dates are golden, soft and very sweet. Mabroom dates are long, thin and chewy. If the dates in front of you are large, glossy and golden, they are not Ajwa — whatever the box says.

Grades: Ajwa Al-Madina

“Ajwa Al-Madina” means Ajwa from Madinah. Sellers also use words like “Special”, “Standard”, “Jumbo” and “Export Quality”. These are trade grades, not official grades — there is no single official grading scale that every seller follows. In practice, “Special” usually means larger, softer, more uniform dates, and “Standard” means smaller or mixed sizes. The price gap between them at Naheed was zero in the 1kg packs (both Rs 6,950), so do not pay extra for a grade word without checking the dates themselves.

⚠️ Fake Ajwa warning

Fake Ajwa is common in Pakistan, because real Ajwa is expensive and the name sells. Common tricks include: selling dark Kalmi or Safawi dates as Ajwa; coating ordinary dates in oil to make them look glossy and dark; and reusing a branded Ajwa box for loose dates.

  • Price: below Rs 4,000 per kg from an unknown seller is a warning, not a bargain.
  • Colour: real Ajwa is dark brown to black with a wrinkled skin, not shiny black and not golden.
  • Size: real Ajwa dates are small, about 3 cm. Large dates labelled Ajwa are usually another variety.
  • Pack: buy a sealed, branded pack with a packing date and an importer or seller name. Loose dates in a reused box cannot be checked.
  • Seed: Ajwa seeds are small and ridged. If you open a date and the seed looks wrong or the flesh is dry and hard, ask questions.

🔬 Nutrition and what the research shows

Per 100g, dates contain about 277 calories, 75g of carbohydrate, 66g of natural sugars, 7g of fibre, 2g of protein and almost no fat, according to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) FoodData Central entry for dates. They are also a source of potassium (about 656mg per 100g) and magnesium (about 54mg). Ajwa dates are similar to other dates in this respect — the differences between varieties are small, and no separate USDA entry exists for Ajwa alone.

Three Ajwa dates (about 25g) give roughly 70 calories and about 19g of carbohydrate. That is why the portion matters more than the variety: dates are a concentrated source of natural sugar, and a handful is a meal’s worth of carbohydrate.

Antioxidants and fibre

A review by Al-Farsi and Lee, published in Critical Reviews in Food Science and Nutrition in 2008, summarised the nutritional and functional properties of dates, including their fibre and phenolic (antioxidant) content. The review covers dates in general, not Ajwa alone, and it does not prove that eating dates treats any disease.

Blood sugar

A study by Alkaabi and colleagues, published in Nutrition Journal in 2011, measured the glycaemic index of five varieties of dates in healthy and diabetic volunteers. The dates tested had low to medium glycaemic indices — meaning they raised blood sugar more slowly than pure glucose — but the exact value depended on the variety. Dates are still high in sugar, so a low glycaemic index does not make them free food for people with diabetes.

What Ajwa dates have not been shown to do: cure disease, protect against poisoning, or replace medicine. Ajwa is mentioned in Islamic tradition, and many families eat it for that reason as well as for taste. That is a matter of faith and tradition, and this guide does not make medical claims for it. Ajwa-specific human trials are limited, and the studies above are about dates in general.

⚠️ Diabetes note, safety warnings and who should avoid Ajwa dates

Diabetes: Ajwa dates are high in natural sugars. If you have diabetes or pre-diabetes, count the carbohydrate — about 19g in 3 dates — and ask your doctor or dietitian how many dates fit your daily plan. Do not eat dates on the assumption that a low glycaemic index makes them safe in any amount.

  • Allergies: date allergy is uncommon, but sulphites used to preserve some dried fruit can trigger asthma in sensitive people. Check the pack for preservatives if you are sensitive.
  • Teeth: dates are sticky and sweet. Rinse your mouth with water after eating them, and brush as normal.
  • Stomach upset: eating a large amount at once can cause bloating, because dates are high in fibre and sugar. Start with 2–3 dates.
  • Children: remove the seed before giving dates to a small child, and cut the date up — whole dates are a choking risk.
  • Storage: keep Ajwa dates in an airtight container in a cool place. In summer heat they can ferment or go mouldy — a sour smell or white mould means they should be thrown away.

🧭 Who should buy — and who should skip

Buy if…

You want Ajwa dates for Ramadan, for iftar, as a gift, or as a daily snack of 2–3 dates; you buy a sealed, named pack; and you have checked the per-kg price against this guide.

Skip if…

You have diabetes and have not checked how dates fit your plan; the only listing in your budget is far below the verified range from a seller with no reviews; or the dates are loose, unlabelled and sold as Ajwa at a premium. In that case, buy a smaller sealed pack from a supermarket instead, or choose a cheaper named date variety and pay its real price.

🔍 How to spot real Ajwa dates before you pay

  • Look: dark brown to black, wrinkled skin, small size (about 3 cm), dry to the touch — not glossy, not golden, not large.
  • Feel: soft and slightly chewy, not rock-hard and not wet or sticky with added syrup.
  • Smell: a mild, sweet, liquorice-like smell. A sour or fermented smell means the dates have gone off.
  • Taste one: in a bazaar, ask to taste. Real Ajwa is sweet with a dry, liquorice note — not syrupy sweet like Sukkari.
  • Check the pack: read the brand, the variety (“Ajwa Al-Madina”), the weight and the packing date. A sealed pack from a named brand is worth more than a loose box with a photocopied label.
  • Calculate per kg: divide the price by the pack weight in grams and multiply by 1,000. Our table does this for you — use the same maths in the shop.

📋 How we collected these prices

We searched Naheed.pk and Daraz.pk on 7 November 2026 for Ajwa dates, Ajwa khajoor and Ajwa Al-Madina, and recorded the pack size and the price exactly as listed. We calculated per-kg rates from those two numbers. We did not use prices from blogs, social media posts or price-aggregator sites, because those are often out of date.

We excluded listings where the pack size could not be confirmed, and listings that named a pack size in the title but priced a different size. We also tried Carrefour Pakistan and Imtiaz online on the same day; Carrefour’s site returned a service error and Imtiaz’s search page returned a 404, so no prices from those stores are included. No brand was included on the basis of a guess — if we could not see the price on a live page, the brand is not in the table.

Prices are online list prices before delivery charges. A bazaar price may be lower or higher, and a Ramadan or 11.11 sale price may change the next day. Always check the live price before ordering.

🏙️ City-wise prices: Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Sargodha

We have no verified city-specific bazaar prices for Ajwa dates in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad or Sargodha for 7 November 2026. Naheed and Daraz are online stores with one national list price, so the rates in our table apply online in all four cities, apart from delivery charges, which vary by city.

That is an honest gap, not a guess. In general, dry-fruit bazaars — Empress Market in Karachi, Akbari Mandi in Lahore, and the dry-fruit shops of Islamabad and Sargodha — usually track the online range, with loose dates cheaper per kg and sealed branded packs dearer. But we did not verify a stall price in any city, so we will not publish one as fact. If you buy in a bazaar, use the per-kg rates in this guide as your benchmark: if a stall quotes far above Rs 7,000 per kg for plain Ajwa, you are paying too much, and if it quotes far below Rs 4,000 per kg, ask whether the dates are really Ajwa.

What is the price of Ajwa dates 1kg in Pakistan?

A 1kg pack of plain Ajwa dates cost Rs 6,950 at Naheed (S.N. Ajwa Special and Standard) on 7 November 2026. Daraz marketplace sellers listed 1kg boxes at Rs 3,779, Rs 4,499 and Rs 5,999 — check the seller before you trust the lowest price.

How can I tell real Ajwa dates from fake ones?

Real Ajwa dates are small (about 3 cm), dark brown to black, soft and wrinkled, with a dry liquorice-like sweetness. Large, glossy or golden dates sold as Ajwa are usually another variety. Buy a sealed, branded pack, and be suspicious of any price far below Rs 4,000 per kg from an unknown seller.

How many Ajwa dates should I eat per day?

A common portion is 2–3 dates a day, which gives about 70 calories and about 19g of carbohydrate. Dates are high in natural sugar, so a small portion is enough for most people. If you have diabetes, ask your doctor how many dates fit your daily plan.

Are Ajwa dates good for diabetes?

Ajwa dates are high in natural sugars, so they are not a free food for people with diabetes. A 2011 study in Nutrition Journal found that dates generally have a low to medium glycaemic index, but that does not make them safe in any amount. Count the carbohydrate and ask your doctor.

What is the difference between Ajwa and Medjool dates?

Ajwa dates are small, dark and wrinkled with a dry, liquorice-like sweetness, and they come from Madinah. Medjool dates are much larger, plumper and caramel-sweet. They are different varieties with different prices — Medjool should not be sold at Ajwa prices, or the other way round.

Does BaBa Shop sell Ajwa dates?

No. BaBa Shop does not sell Ajwa dates or almonds. We sell chia seeds, flax seeds and sunflower seeds. This guide is a price guide, not a product page, and the shop link in it goes to our seeds range.

✅ Conclusion: Ajwa dates price in Pakistan

The Ajwa dates price in Pakistan in November 2026 is Rs 4,500–Rs 6,950 per kg at a supermarket, with marketplace 1kg boxes listed at Rs 3,779–Rs 5,999. The cheapest verified 1kg listing we saw was Rs 3,779 from a Daraz marketplace seller — a price worth checking twice before you trust it.

For most families, the sensible buy is a sealed 400g or 500g pack from a named brand — Royal Shamsi at about Rs 4,500–Rs 4,625 per kg — so you can check the dates before you spend Rs 6,950 on a kilo.

Remember the three rules from this guide: divide by the pack weight before you compare, buy a sealed pack from a seller you can hold to account, and check the live price before you order — because prices change. And if a deal looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Key takeaways: plain Ajwa costs Rs 4,500–Rs 6,950 per kg at Naheed; a daily portion is 2–3 dates; real Ajwa is small, dark and wrinkled; and BaBa Shop does not sell Ajwa dates — our shop sells seeds.
